QuickBooks Business Champion – July 2015

Premier Meats

This month, our QuickBooks Business Champion is Premier Meat Products, a manufacturer and wholesaler based in Pinetown, Durban. The enterprise is owned and run by husband and wife, David and Kim Hellestoe, and has been in operation for the past 14 years. Together, they manufacture all kinds of meat products, including beef, pork, lamb, chicken and mutton, supplying these to more than 700 clients, as required.

Due to their exponential growth, they recently moved into new premises to better accommodate their 200 staff. They’ve also begun to export their products outside of South Africa. So, whether it’s steaks for restaurants, processed meats for retail outlets or bacon and sausages for breakfast, Premier Meats has become a supplier of choice.

Following their immense success, we asked how using QuickBooks has helped in building their business. Kim Hellestoe replied, “I have used QuickBooks for about 15 years and I can honestly say that it is because it’s so user-friendly. Not everyone that uses QuickBooks needs an accounting background. No real training is required and it quite simply is plug and play – so to speak.”

For more information on Premier Meat Products, you can call Kim Hellestoe on (031)828 5515 or mail her on pmp@worldonline.co.za.  You could also visit their newly launched website at Premier Meats.
