QuickBooks Business Champion – September 2015

The QuickBooks Business Champions for the month of September are ProNet Travel and MilProp – two companies that are owned and managed by Peter Miler and operate out of Newton Park in Port Elizabeth. ProNet Travel is a travel management company that offers the corporate travel manager and the private traveler the assistance and guidance they need when planning and booking transport and accommodation.

With a combined 82 years of travel experience, ProNet Travel offers a single-minded dedication to service, a commitment to achieving client satisfaction, industry leading technology and an infrastructure to rival any larger competitor. These elements have proven to be the reason for the success of ProNet Travel, since its establishment in 2004. MilProp is the Property side of the business, offering commercial property to rent in the sought after Newton Park area of Port Elizabeth.

How QuickBooks helps ProNet Travel and MilProp

Both businesses use QuickBooks Accounting. Ivana Oliver handles the accounting side of the ProNet business and joined the company in 2010. Ivana has an accounting and bookkeeping background, and when she joined the company, she was asked to look into new accounting packages, as the one that was in existence was not offering the accounting solution that was required.

There was a need for good reporting and the ability to customise.  Once comparisons were done, QuickBooks was chosen as the accounting package of choice. When asked why QuickBooks, Ivana responded, “QuickBooks is so easy to use. We have found that in our industry, the QuickBooks Pro package that we have offers great reporting on a monthly and even weekly basis. The Company Snapshot allows us to see where the business is at all times. Being able to customise the system is just another benefit of using QuickBooks.”
