We first spoke to Ruan Van Tonder, Director at X-Accounting Management. Here’s his story and how QuickBooks Online and EasyBiz Technologies helped him achieve success.

1. Tell us about your business and what you do for your clients?

X-Accounting Management started in 2007, our services consist of bookkeeping services, financial reporting, business planning, tax planning, and general accounting services. The core focus of our business is growing and enabling small to medium-sized enterprises to succeed.

2. How did you get into this business?

Since school, becoming an accountant has always been the plan. After school, I worked for a financial services company while studying part-time. I then started my own business, which mainly focused on bookkeeping, until I qualified. The entrepreneur in me then formed a full-on accounting firm. It took me 6 years to build my firm and I’m proud to say that I’m now running a very successful business.

3. Can you give us 3 reasons why the QuickBooks Online software solution is so handy?

For me, the fact that QuickBooks is online and that it’s in the cloud is probably the main reason. Working in the cloud means that you can work from anywhere, anytime from any mobile device! QuickBooks Online also has a wonderful way of automating things, from automatic bank feeds all the way to tax calculations. This means less work for me which means I can take on more work and offer more focus on other areas in my business. It also minimises gaps in the financial process and continuously gives me relevant and update to date information and insights.

4. How has your experience with EasyBiz Technologies been?

The EasyBiz Technologies team is great – they’re crucial support to my team in terms of integrating and onboarding my clients onto QuickBooks Online.

5. How has QuickBooks Online added value to your business?

One example really comes to mind! It’s helped us retain and grow one of our longest standing clients. We’ve worked together for 11 years which is no small feat and together with QuickBooks Online and EasyBiz Technologies, we’ve helped this client grow from one small office to now owning three properties.
