1. Can you tell me a bit about your business and what you do for your clients?

I am an accountant and assist businesses with accounting, bookkeeping and tax services. I love how different all of my clients are and it keeps my work very interesting! From an invoicing perspective, I assist clients who own carwashes, others are in the entertainment industry, IT companies, design firms, facilitators, training, trading and bookstore owners.

For other clients, I do their invoicing and assist with their banking. Some of my clients aren’t always open to new technology but once I alleviate their fears around security and show them how transparent it allows the client-accountant collaboration to be, they usually come around.

2. How did you get into this business?

I started by doing my husband’s company’s books for 4 years. Last year, I went on my own to help small businesses as well as NPO, MPCs, and EDCs. It all began when my husband’s company’s bookkeeper, who was on a monthly retainer, had nothing to show after years of doing the books. My husband lost a lot during that time and by the end, he had to start all over again. I didn’t want other businesses to have to go through that, so I decided to start my own firm. I realized that there is a huge amount of start-up businesses that need the assistance of an accountant or bookkeeper from a compliance and advisory perspective.

3. Can you give us 3 reasons why QuickBooks service solution is so handy?

Using the mobile app, as well as working online from your desktop is so helpful because your company data is always accessible. It also allows me to be totally transparent with my clients which put their minds at ease because they always know exactly what’s going on with their company financials, at all times.
